Theater and Performing Arts Events

Explore the local performances in downtown Marquette. From spending a night out on the town at the theater with someone special to catching a comedy show with your friends, here is your one-stop guide to Marquette’s expanding theater scene.

Live Performances

Home to the original summer theater, Lake Superior Theater has been showcasing and preserving local history for the community of Marquette. Lake Superior Theater located near Lower Harbor Marina was once an old boathouse but has been operating as a theater for the community since 1998. With both theatrical and musical performances running from July to August, there is a breath of shows to choose from.

One of the finest university theaters in the nation, the Forest Roberts Theatre hosts up to six major productions a year. Here you can see the hard work the NMU theater students put into their craft before they make it big.

Festivals

A celebration of the rich and diverse culture of our community, Marquette Art Week features art exhibits, performances, receptions, studio tours, and more. Held annually in June, this event is a great opportunity to explore our arts scene.
