Contrast Coffee Co.

Contrast Coffee Co. is one of the many cozy coffee shops in downtown Marquette. Located on the corner of N Third St. and W Ohio St., the cafe is bustling and serves traditional caffeinated beverages, as well as seasonal drinks (pumpkin spice latte of course) and their popular Lotus Energy drinks, which are a plant-based alternative to traditional energy drinks. Contrast is the perfect caffeine boost while exploring the town and all of the other cute boutiques and stores.

Pro Tip!

Don't forget to check out the huge nature mural located across the street from the coffee shop! It is one of the many colorful public murals around the town.

Downtown Marquette Farmers Market

Visit the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market every Saturday morning (May 17 - October 25) from 9am to 1pm in the central Marquette Commons. From freshly baked goods to small farm produce, and artisanal products and art, you're bound to find something to satisfy a craving or bring home as a keepsake/gift. We had so much fun exploring the different vendors, and even trying several types of squash.

Pro Tip!

Stop by the Marquette Food Co-Op booth to try all of the seasonal squashes for the fall. This was such a fun and free activity to try new squashes we could purchase for ourselves to make at home!

Lower Harbor Ore Dock

The Lower Harbor Ore Dock was constructed for loading iron ore from mines’ rail cars onto ore boats for transport across the Great Lakes Region. With railway tracks along the top, rail cars would bottom dump ore into “pockets." Each pocket’s hinged chute lowered to drop the ore into the hold of a ship moored adjacent to the dock. This area makes for a fabulous stroll before or after a meal during your trip to downtown Marquette.

Pro Tip!

Make sure you check out the Seven Grandfathers Sculpture located near Founder's Landing Pier!

Mt. Marquette Overlook

The Mt. Marquette scenic overlook allows you to take in all of the stunning treetops of Marquette. The views at sunrise and sunset are truly magical. You can drive up (easy access to viewpoint) or take a moderate hike this gorgeous spot. We visited right after sunrise and it was amazing just to breathe in the crisp fall air while viewing the red, orange, yellow, and green hues below us.

Pro Tip!

The road to the overlook is steep, so make sure you have a vehicle with 4-wheel drive! The path is one-way (make sure you head to the correct entrance), so you don't have to worry about encountering other cars.

Wright Street Falls

Located along the NTN North trails, Wright Street Falls is located ten minutes from downtown Marquette. The trail features a stunning series of falls and rapids that are easily accessible and fun to explore. It was well kept and we had an amazing time looking at all of the colorful street art.
