A proper UP ski day looks like this: brunch to fuel up, lift laps to earn it, and cozy comfort food and fine wine to close it out. Marquette delivers the kind of winter day that’s simple, satisfying, and exactly what I came for.

Delft Bistro

Brunch at The Delft was truly delicious and exactly the kind of slow, cozy start to the day needed. E.T. played on the big screen while we leaned all the way into blueberry pancakes and shakshouka—an elite, no-notes combo. We ordered family-style, which meant getting to each try something new while having enough to share of everyone’s favorite dish.

Pro Tip!

Order a few different dishes and share them family-style. It’s the best way to sample some of the more unique menu items while still enjoying the favorites you already love.

Marquette Mountain

It's a perfect spot for a half-day or full-day winter adventure while visiting Marquette. With the Bunny Hill and ski lessons for beginners, more challenging terrain on the east side for thrill seekers, and the T-Bar (yes, an actual bar) for those who prefer to relax, Marquette Mountain truly offers something for everyone.

Pro Tip!

Bring apres' cozy clothing inside with you in the chalet to enjoy the T-Bar bar after your day of skiing or snowboarding!

DIGS Gastropub

Comfort food, done right. While the menu feels approachable, there’s clearly real thought and care behind every dish, you can tell these chefs know exactly what they’re doing. We ordered a couple of creative hot dogs and settled in at the bar, chatting with the waitress along the way. DIGS is also a great late-night spot, whether you’re out on the town or just want to catch a game while digging into some wings.

Pro Tip!

Ask the staff what's new on the menu! This place is changing up the menu on a regular basis.

Zephyr

We wrapped up the night at Zephyr with wines from around the world - I ordered a nice white glass of wine from Spain. Cozy, intimate, and the perfect place for a thoughtful nightcap and walkable, even in the winter.

Pro Tip!

Go in with a sharing mindset. Order a few small plates and let the staff guide you on wine selections. Whether you want to explore something new or stick to familiar flavors, they’re fantastic at pairing and recommending.
