Explore the Farmers Market

Every Saturday from 9am-1pm, the Down Marquette Farmers Market is at the Marquette Commons. There's no better way to spend an autumn morning/afternoon than out in the fresh air, supporting farm-fresh local foods and goods.

Take a Fall Color Hike

Peak season is almost upon us! While it varies year-to-year (weather dependent), the last three weeks of October are typically prime time for fall color tours in Marquette County. Some of our favorite fall color spots that are awesome for all ages include Presque IsleSugarloaf, Thomas Rock, and the Iron Ore Heritage Trail.

Watch the UP200 Dryland Dash

These dogs may not be dashing through the snow, but the fall foliage is definitely a treat. Watch the dogs train and compete throughout these 1-2 mile courses, October 14-15 at the UP200 Dryland Dash.

Go Chasing Waterfalls

Big or small, no autumn adventure is complete without seeing some falls. Marquette County is happily home to 77, and while that may seem like a ton (it is), we’ve marked which waterfalls we deemed family-friendly (parent's discretion advised) on our waterfall page for easy itinerary planning.

Grab Some Sweet Treats

'Tis the season to indulge! Whether you have a taste for creamy chocolates from Donckers, a slice of seasonal pie from Peace Pie Co. at Iron Bay, or macarons and coffee from BabyCakes or Velodrome, there are plenty a sweet shops to treat yourself (and your kids).
